Frequently Asked Questions
All employees of Cox Automotive are eligible to participate in the Northwood University Premier Education Partnership Program.
Each student varies, however the maximum amount a student can transfer in is 90 semester credit hours or 75% of a bachelor’s degree.
Prior learning is the process by which Cox Automotive employees will receive prior learning credit through Northwood’s proprietary Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) process which maximizes transfer credits, reduces costs, and decreases time to degree. Prior learning including transfer credits, credit by exemption, experiential credits, professional training, will be evaluated for college-level credit and applied toward your degree.
Northwood University will assess each student’s unique situation prior to any transfers or transitions.
Students who leave during an active course will be responsible for full payment of all charges for the course and are subject to Northwood’s withdrawal policies for Cox Automotive students.
Depending on the pathway and program you enroll in based on your work/life experience and former education, Northwood’s programs can result in you earning an Associate of Arts (AA), Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (BBA), Bachelor of Science Degree (BS), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Science (MS), or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
As part of this exclusive pathway agreement, your limited out-of-pocket expenses for undergraduate courses includes only the costs for books and fees after the full use of your $5,250 tuition assistance benefits annually for full time Cox Employees. For graduate programs, all NU expenses beyond the $5,250 annual tuition benefit is the responsibility of the Cox employee.
Yes, as a full time Cox Automotive team member you receive an annual tuition reimbursement of $5,250 which will be directly billed to the Cox Automotive group for application to your student balance.
Part Time employees are eligible for $1,500 in tuition benefits which will be directly billed to the Cox Automotive group for application to your student balance.

Yes, Northwood University is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Yes, you must complete Northwood application for admission requirements, as well as any supplemental information required by the Northwood University admissions department. Official transcripts are evaluated to award up to 90 transfer credits.

We encourage all students to apply for Financial Aid to maximize any and all grant monies available at the state and federal levels. You can get started online. All federal grants (free money) will be applied toward tuition.
Yes, they are dependent upon which degree program pathway you choose. Most Northwood programs allows students the freedom to pursue degree completion at a pace that works for their personal situation.
You can continue your education at Northwood; however, you will revert to the standard university tuition rates. Each semester all participants will be approved by Cox Automotive to confirm they are in good standing with the department.
Yes, you can, and we have options for active students to complete graduate level coursework to meet undergraduate degree requirements to save you time and money. We are currently working with members of the Cox Automotive leadership to establish custom masters’ programs that meet the needs of aspiring and existing Cox Automotive employees.
Each class throughout your program of study is typically eight (8) weeks in duration for fall and spring semesters while summer courses are 6 weeks for undergraduate and 8 weeks for graduate courses.
