Northwood University’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) process allows associates to apply prior learning to maximize transfer credits, reduce costs, and decrease degree completion time.

Northwood University will offer eligible associates tuition deferment to minimize out-of-pocket expenses! Before each semester, associates must submit for JM Family pre-approval of coursework (through the education portal, Edcor), enroll in course(s), successfully complete the course(s), and submit grade and invoice documents in Edcor to receive tuition reimbursement funds from JM Family. Once the reimbursement is received, the associate is responsible for paying Northwood University within seven (7) business days.

Courses are delivered 100% online or in person at select locations to make earning a degree convenient. Northwood University’s flexible online coursework can be completed in the evenings, on weekends, or at any time to fit adult learners’ lifestyle needs.

Each course is typically eight (8) weeks in duration for Fall and Spring semesters. Summer courses are six (6) weeks for undergraduate courses and eight (8) weeks for graduate courses.

The delivery of books and course materials differs by course. To reduce associate’s out-of-pocket costs, Northwood University provides discounted inclusive access for some courses that are automatically charged to students’ Northwood accounts. Courses with textbooks that are not offered as all-inclusive materials are available for students to purchase separately through the Northwood online bookstore.
