What Degree Completion Pathway Programs are available?

Northwood University has multiple degree completion pathway options for all Schaeffler employees. Please contact your dedicated Schaeffler Northwood Representative to determine the best pathway for you at .

How many credits can I transfer to Northwood?

Each student varies, however the maximum amount a student can transfer in is 90 semester credit hours or 75% of a bachelor’s degree. Graduate credit transfer is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

What is the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) program?

Prior learning is the process by which Schaeffler employees can receive undergraduate college credits for prior learning from work and life experiences through Northwood’s proprietary Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) process, which reduces costs, and decreases time to degree. Prior learning, including transfer credits, credit by exemption, experiential credits, and professional training, will be evaluated for college-level credit and applied toward your degree.

What happens if I leave the program during an active course?

Students who leave during an active course will be responsible for full payment of all charges for the course and are subject to Northwood’s withdrawal policies for Schaeffler students.

What degrees can I earn through this partnership?

Depending on the pathway and program you enroll in based on your work/life experience and former education, Northwood’s programs can result in you earning an Associate of Arts (AA), Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (BBA), Bachelor of Science Degree (BS), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Science (MS), or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

Yes, these programs were designed with working Schaeffler employees in mind and include access to tutoring, advising, and student support services. In addition, students will have access to career counseling throughout the duration of their program and for life once they earn their degree from Northwood University.

Do I need to apply for financial aid?

We encourage all students to apply for Financial Aid to maximize any grant monies available at the state and federal levels. All federal grants (free money) will be applied toward tuition. Northwood’s school code is 004072.

You can continue your education at Northwood; however, you will revert to the standard university tuition rates. Each term, all participants will be approved by Schaeffler to confirm they are in good standing with the department.

What type of computer do I need to take courses at Northwood?

Northwood offers computer recommendations and discount information that can be viewed prior to starting classes to ensure you have all the resources you need to be successful.

Can I get my bachelor’s degree and then continue on to get my master’s degree at Northwood?

Yes, you can. Northwood offers options for active students to complete graduate-level coursework to meet undergraduate degree requirements, saving them time and money.

How long is each class?

Each class throughout your program of study is typically eight (8) weeks in duration for fall and spring semesters, while summer courses are 6 weeks for undergraduate and 8 weeks for graduate courses. Select courses may be 16 weeks depending upon degree requirements.

As a Schaeffler employee, how does the partnership work with my tuition reimbursement benefits (TAP) apply?

Yes, full-time and part-time Schaeffler employees working at least 30 hours per week can combine the Northwood tuition scholarships in combination with Schaeffler tuition reimbursement benefits.

Schaeffler employees working 30 hours per week or more are immediately eligible upon employment for courses completed while in employment (meaning courses that began before commencing employment or that concluded after exiting employment are not eligible for reimbursement.)

Schaeffler employees working less than 30 hours per week would qualify for the Northwood tuition scholarships but are not eligible for Schaeffler education benefits.
